The existing website was developed some 6 years ago and had evolved through several iterations which had resulted in a number of issues in the interface for users and the administrator;

  • The site was not powered by a modern Content Management System which left the administrator struggling with the codebase when creating or deleting content
  • Content was not properly categorised and there was no information hierarchy
  • The site had become bloated in terms of the content on the site and this needed to be rewritten
  • There was no streamlined email marketing capability
  • The forum was not being properly managed and integrated into the website

The project requirment can be summarised as follows;

  1. New, Clean, Fresh Design
  2. New Site Architecture to aid Findability
  3. Redesigned User Interface with full suite of Accessibility features
  4. Search Site facility
  5. Completely CMS-driven Solution built in Drupal
  6. Members Sign Up Form (online payment to follow in P2) including redesigned/integrated Members Forum
  7. Online Library and Video Upload Facility
  8. News/Events/Course Booking Module (online payment to follow in P2)

Outcome:
The project had a tight schedule to meet as the new site was to be unveiled to the Board Of Management at their AGM at the end of November and as the organisation operates on a voluntary basis it was important that the delivery was project managed and controlled from the outset. As a result the deadline was met with time to spare. We delivered a new Brand ID concept, website structure with CMS, reworked content as well as all the deliverables above to help manage and maintain and attract a the wider pain community to this content heavy site. We have also developed a framework to prepare for the delivery of an e-learning/ webinar component for phase 2 which will commence in Q1 2010.
