A Big Few Months…

As our business has grown and with it our team it’s become harder to find the time to share knowledge, experiences and successes across our teams. Confluence and project reporting can only tell you so much. So Daniel Alb our Head of CX, Performance and Insights instigated an All Hands Show and Tell a few months back to bring us together for beers and pizza on the last Thursday of every month.

The format is pretty simple, our teams present to each other on what they’ve been up to; learnt along the way and how those learnings might be useful to other teams. The format is rapid-fire presentations lead by the team (no hiding places) followed by questions. Topics have included platform improvements we’ve introduced for Liverpool Football Club and the impact they’ve had on conversion, how we run our Support Services and what we are learning along the way, the importance of User Research in the software development process and a walkthrough of our intranet project for Dun Laoighaire Rathdown Co. Co. So it turns out we are achieving some pretty amazing things that might have previously been given a nod and a round of applause at our morning stand-up without those outside the team knowing what was involved. It’s bubbling knowledge up and out.

The Show and Tell is really supposed to be for the teams but, as a business, we’ve achieved quite a bit over the last few months so I asked Daniel if I could get a slot at the last one. I just about squeezed the update into the strict 20 minute timebox.

Here are the highlights in the format of one of those LinkedIn posts you see at the end of the year…it’s been a period of firsts…

We’ve been (finally) awarded Enterprise Solution Partner status by Magento. From our beginnings in Harrington St. as a Bronze Partner, the first and only Magento Partner in Ireland, it’s been one heck of a ride. 2017 saw us adding an additional 10 new Enterprise clients, some new builds, some takeovers. It’s a fantastic recognition of the work of our team.

We ran a very successful B2B Webinar with our client Brymec and Magento on the6th of December. Over 150 people joined from all over the world to hear Guy and Russell from Brymec share their company and B2B Ecommerce journey. We were also joined by Peter Sheldon, VP of Strategy for Magento who told us about the emerging trends in B2B Ecommerce. You can listen back here

Our work with Brymec was also featured in a case study on Magento.com, highlighting some fantastic results for their first 6 months trading on Magento Commerce Cloud v2.2 with the new B2B features. It was a world first.

We debuted our ‘Anatomy of Success in B2B Ecommerce’ event in Manchester on the30th of Januarywith our partners Dotmailer and Magento. It was attended by over 60 B2B Ecommerce specialists. If you couldn’t make it check out our YouTube Channel for all the talks. We hope to announce our third city in the series in the next few weeks.

Finally, we have recently established an office in Kiev, Ukraine. With the help of two of our Ukrainian staff members who helped us research the city, local employment market and business environment and Max Zakharov from Magento who very kindly offered us support, guidance and validation during the process, we are now up and running and have employed our first two team members.

And then the icing on the cake, Jon from Space 48 gave us a mention on Magetalk, the Magento podcast hosted by Phillip Winkle and Kalen Jordan. We’ll have truly arrived when we get an invite.

So 2017 ended very well with another 20% jump in revenue and 2018 has got off to a great start. Stay tuned for new client announcements, new hires and much more in the next few months.
