Drupal Backend Developer

We have a great opportunity for a Drupal Backend Developer to join us in Dublin, Ireland. Reporting directly to the Drupal Lead Developer, you will work closely with other members of the Drupal team to ensure that we continue to provide a best-in-class CMS development service. You should be organised and efficient with strong communication skills and a high motivation to provide an excellent experience for our client’s by ensuring their needs are catered for on an ongoing basis.



  • Interpret written business requirements and technical specification documents.

  • Standalone developer with knowledge of backend.

  • Perform maintenance and development on Drupal sites.

  • Debug complex issues and bugs using debugging tools.

  • Create, document and implement unit tests and scripts.

  • Develop custom functionalities using MVC PHP and Drupal API's.

  • Working in the Agile base team structure on projects.

  • Maintaining a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly in regard to accessibility, usability and emerging technologies.

  • Participate & advise on training sessions with customers.

  • Assist in upskilling junior and mid-level team members.



  • 3+ years of Drupal 7 and Drupal 8 experience.

  • Back-end stack Drupal 7 & 8.

  • Basic knowledge of front-end technologies including SASS, LESS, and jQuery.

  • Working with VMs (Docker, Vagrant, etc), Unix-based OS.

  • Knowledge of GIT.

  • Experience working in Agile environment.

  • Understanding of testing concepts, experience in writing Unit PHP test is an advantage.

  • Experience in integrating 3rd party libraries, APIs, etc.

  • Experience in writing project architecture, integration and other documentation.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines without compromising quality.

  • Excellent programming skills in core PHP is required.

  • MySQL or other relational database systems.

  • Knowledge of Xdebug.

  • Basic understanding of DevOps practices, experience with server configuration is an advantage.
